Dragonborn

Born of draconic ancestry, dragonborn possess an innate blend of physical strength and primal power. Their heritage manifests as a breath weapon and resistance to a specific elemental damage type, tying their physiology to their progenitor's lineage. Shaped by a culture that exalts personal honor and martial prowess, they seek to prove their worth through acts of bravery and unwavering dedication.

Traits

Every species has unique traits that define their abilities and characteristics. The Dragonborn species attains all of the following bonus traits:

Draconic Resilience

Your draconic ancestry grants you tough, scaly skin. You have resistance to the damage type associated with your draconic ancestry.

Darkvision

You have Darkvision with a range of 60 feet.

Breath Weapon

You can use your action to exhale destructive energy in a 15-foot cone. The damage type and saving throw DC are determined by your draconic ancestry. After using this ability, you must complete a short or long rest before using it again.

Lineages

Lineages provides a unique identity for your character's ancestry and gives the species one or more bonuses. The Dragonborn species has the following lineages and can choose only one lineage:

Black

Descendants of black dragons, with acid that melts steel and shadows that cling like tar.

  • Acid Resistance: When subjected to acid damage, roll 1d4 and reduce the damage taken by the number rolled.

Blue

Heirs to blue dragons, crackling with storm energy and desert pride.

  • Lightning Resistance: When struck by lightning, roll a 1d4 to ward off some of the blow, reducing the damage by the result.

Brass

Scions of brass dragons, whose fiery breath carries the warmth of the noonday sun.

  • Fire Resistance: When flames lick at your flesh, roll 1d4 to temper the heat, decreasing the fire damage you suffer.

Bronze

Born of bronze dragons, with lightning that dances like sea-spray and a love of justice.

  • Lightning Resistance: When lightning crackles around you, roll a 1d4. The energy dissipates, reducing the incoming damage by the number rolled.

Copper

Children of copper dragons, their acid wit as sharp as their breath.

  • Acid Resistance: When acid splashes upon you, roll a 1d4. Your draconic scales offer some protection, reducing the damage taken by the result.

Gold

Ancestors of gold dragons, their fire burns with the purity of a forge's heart.

  • Fire Resistance: When engulfed in flames, roll a 1d4. Your golden lineage grants you resilience, reducing the fire damage by the number rolled.

Green

Offspring of green dragons, whose poison lingers like a whispered secret.

  • Poison Resistance: When poison courses through your veins, roll a 1d4. Your green dragon blood helps to mitigate the toxins, reducing the damage taken.

Red

Blood of red dragons, their fury ignites the very air.

  • Fire Resistance: When the heat of dragonfire washes over you, roll a 1d4. Your red dragon heritage allows you to shrug off some of the intensity, reducing the damage.

Silver

Progeny of silver dragons, their cold breath glistens like winter's first frost.

  • Cold Resistance: When icy winds or magical frost assault you, roll a 1d4. Your silver dragon ancestry provides a chill resistance, reducing the cold damage.

White

Kin to white dragons, their chilling roar freezes blood in the veins.

  • Cold Resistance: When the biting cold threatens to numb you, roll a 1d4. Your white dragon blood grants you a resilience to the frost, lessening the damage taken.
