Elf
Elves are a people of ancient grace and timeless wisdom. Their long lifespans allow them to master both art and magic, cultivating a deep appreciation for beauty and harmony. They are innately tied to the natural world, often dwelling in secluded sylvan communities. With their keen senses and exceptional agility, elves are peerless archers and potent spellcasters, standing as vigilant protectors against threats to the wilds.
Traits
Every species has unique traits that define their abilities and characteristics. The Elf species attains all of the following bonus traits:
You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can't put you to sleep.
Accustomed to twilight forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light.
Elves don't need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.
Lineages
Lineages provides a unique identity for your character's ancestry and gives the species one or more bonuses. The Elf species has the following lineages and can choose only one lineage:
High
Scholars of the arcane, their minds as sharp as their blades.
- Wizard Cantrip: You know one cantrip of your choice from the wizard spell list. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for it.
- Detect Magic: You can cast detect magic once per long rest without expending a spell slot.
Wood
Wardens of the wilds, moving unseen beneath the boughs.
- Fleet of Foot: Your base walking speed increases to 35 feet.
- Pass Without Trace: You can cast pass without trace once per long rest without expending a spell slot.
Drow
Exiles of the Underdark, their magic as dark as their past.
- Superior Darkvision: Your darkvision has a range of 120 feet.
- Dancing Lights: You know the dancing lights cantrip.
- Faerie Fire: You can cast faerie fire once per long rest without expending a spell slot.
