Goliath

Goliaths are a massive and nomadic people, their incredible strength and endurance forged by the brutal realities of their mountainous homes. They travel in small, tight-knit tribes, where every member is expected to contribute to the group's survival. Goliaths value competition and self-improvement above all else, often engaging in physical contests to prove their worth, all while living in a profound harmony with the rugged landscapes they call home.

Traits

Every species has unique traits that define their abilities and characteristics. The Goliath species attains all of the following bonus traits:

Powerful Build

You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Mountain Born

You're acclimated to high altitude, including elevations above 20,000 feet. You also have natural resistance to cold climates.

Lineages

Lineages provides a unique identity for your character's ancestry and gives the species one or more bonuses. The Goliath species has the following lineages and can choose only one lineage:

Cloud

Descendants of cloud giants, stepping between mists like the wind.

  • Cloud's Jaunt: Once per short rest, you can magically teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see.

Fire

Heirs to fire giants, their skin ashen but their blood molten.

  • Fire's Burn: You gain resistance to fire damage. Additionally, once per long rest, you can cause your weapon attacks to deal an extra 1d6 fire damage for 1 minute.

Frost

Born of frost giants, their touch slows hearts like winter's grip.

  • Frost's Chill: You gain resistance to cold damage. Additionally, once per long rest, you can cause your weapon attacks to deal an extra 1d6 cold damage for 1 minute.

Hill

Kin to hill giants, whose laughter shakes the earth as they brawl.

  • Hill's Tumble: When you take the Dash action, you can move through the space of any creature that is of a size larger than yours.

Stone

Blood of stone giants, enduring blows like mountain roots.

  • Stone's Endurance: When you take damage, you can use your reaction to roll a d12. Add your Constitution modifier to the number rolled, and reduce the damage by that total.

Storm

Scions of storm giants, their voices booming with thunder's wrath.

  • Storm's Thunder: You gain resistance to thunder damage. Additionally, once per long rest, you can cause your weapon attacks to deal an extra 1d6 thunder damage for 1 minute.
